The perception that urban dwellers tend to lean more liberal politically is influenced by a variety of factors, though it's important to note that not all city residents are liberal, and political beliefs can vary widely among individuals regardless of their location. However, several factors contribute to the tendency for cities to be more politically liberal.

It's ironic how luxury makes people more liberal.

The fact New Yorkers are starting to sound like Trump Supporters after the influx of migrants really adds validity to this.

Those backwater southerners complaining about the border dont look so crazy anymore, huh?

But poor urban who arguably have to fight harder for day to day survival than most farmers, especially since the rise of larger and lager corporate farms where laborers can struggle but most are quite wealthy, in-fact most who face food scarcity live in urban environments, this struggle leads to a greater desire for government intervention, and social programs to solve these issues

People in cities are connected and exposed more to the outside world thefore more opean minded about differents ideas, peoples concepts and the like because of it. Is not an issue of comfort but of knowledge. We have a great disconnect within our country and both rural and urban must understand each other to not let division ferment.

I would say that the biggest divide from rural and urban peoples is that rural people value wisdom and urban people value knowledge.

By "liberal," do you mean someone that believes in liberty or progressivism? Because the New Deal was American fascism, or about the closest thing to it.

Most people in the U.S. have to work long hours and most start off with low income jobs. I dont think the idea that Americans are lazy and foolish really holds up. I remember my dishwashing and direct care staff days in eldercare. Pretty tough.

Wrong. It’s because cities actually show you a different point of view. You see people from different regions of the world, you meet people outside your economic bubble, you’re exposed to more ideas. This is why they are more liberal.
