My sister is really into cEDH and shes described it to me as āIn cEDH theres no fear about rule zero talk **ugh i hate that card boohoo**ā no table-only metas, no problem cards, the accepted status quo is everyone is going gloves off, which I cant deny if I had the budget for might feel the most fair.

I started competitive a while back and I will say it's more fun than waiting for someones combo to go off because everyone used their removal on a previous combo going off. Honestly I do like commander to a point but I do despair at how even casual decks are secretly very competitive. Like I get it you want to win but did you have to build the underworld breach combo into the deck. I get chose a play group for you but when you show up to an FNM looking for games you don't want to ask a billion questions about a deck of an opponent. It at that point isn't causal when you see the same commanders time and time again. Like the format used to be about expression not due to all the pre, cons it's become so homogenous. Like how many decks will you see with a commander pre 2012 I can tell you not a lot.

I think its important to try other formats to find what you enjoy.
I haven't touch most formats I try after a few games because I just don't find it fun. I'm not competitive and if winning means playing in ways I don't enjoy I don't have fun. But I did try!
For me fun is sitting around a table with friends and socializing through the medium of magic.
But fun is subjective! Like the vid says try things!

Pushing the game to its absolute limits and optimizing your play is fun. Getting better is fun.
Thatās why Iāve always loved competitive magic. In the end, itās about bettering yourself. When you win a grindy, complicated game where you have to think through all your lines carefully, it feels amazing

My favorite part about cEDH is when the stack becomes 5+ spells high. Interaction is the best when you can actually interact.
