Harold II Godwinson, the last Anglo-Saxon king of England, died in the Battle of Hastings in 1066, mortally wounded by an arrow to the eye while fighting William the Conqueror.

Vladislav III of Varna was the king of Poland and Hungary. He fell in the Battle of Varna in 1444 making a daring attack on the Ottoman Sultan's camp but was surrounded and killed.
John of Luxembourg, king of Bohemia, died in the Battle of Crécy in 1346, fighting against the English. Despite his blindness, he insisted on participating in the battle, ordering himself to be tied to his knights. In the heat of the battle, he was killed.
