The commercial break music is the first bar or so of "Talk to the Animals" from Doctor Dolittle. Some achievement for the band to be more eloquent in a few seconds than the three guests in 45 minutes.

Hilariously uncomfortable. And very little is said about the film they're promoting, but their behavior gives you a better idea of it than any dry descriptions. I love this Cavett episode. DC is patient but doesn't lose his chances to zap 'em with some zingers!!!

Dick Cavett is another level interviewer, he can put up with madness. He only had real artists on his show, and the most interesting and crazy ones. Katherine Hepburn went on that show, the woman never went to pick her own Oscars on stage any of the three times she won, it must mean something.

I desperately wanted to like John Cassavetes' movies but did not. They are mostly self indulgent drivel as exhibited here. The only good one is "The Killing of a Chinese Bookie", which is fantastic.
