Some people are skeptical about a Metroid movie, since it would basically consist of Samus running around in darkness, shooting bugs. But no one said it has to be based on one of Samus's games! Samus has enough backstory to provide ample material for a film with a movie-like plot. I'm sure she has one or two yet-to-be-created bounties that she's hunted early in her career.
