The most useful place I use overscroll behavior contain is on horizontal scrolls. If the user is on a laptop with a touchpad it can be very annoying to try and scroll all the way back to the start (think a table with many columns) and you end up going back to the previous page because the browser detects the back gesture

I have two ongoing UX/UI issues I've needed to solve. That annoying scroll behavior and the tendency for text to get highlighted when a user clicks on an element I've turned into an action.

@KevinPowell it looks like it should be the default. How about adding it to a CSS reset «body * { overscroll-behavior: contain; }»?

I don't use it because it has had an issue that's never been fixed since it was introduced. The scroll is ONLY contained if the container is overflowing. If its content fully fits inside the container, scrolling bubbles up outside the container. I wish it worked consistently instead.
