These are great examples of a phenomenon that happens throughout history in religious, cultures, societies, etc - somehow some really messed up ideas take root and are believed to be the truth. Then they get passed along generation to generation and the people who hold these messed up ideas strongly become the leaders! Brains need to be changed.
