i never took it as linda died she was so close to cryo when she's dropped they literally just pressed paused on resuscitation time halsey just takes her out of cryo and performs surgery the way this puts it you'd think her some kind of frankenstein necromancer....

I recently relistened to Fall of Reach and it was really good (too bad Reach the game would trample all over that. There was also an animated version of Fall of Reach that covered everything leading up to the Battle of Reach. It was good aside from the characters not having the right armor, the art style using the 343 Grunts and Jackals, and some of the ships didn’t line up with what was in the book. Other than that it was a fine adaptation). I also listened to First Strike and Ghosts of Onyx, which were both phenomenal. It’s a shame Eric Nylund didn’t get to write more books in that universe. It’s interesting just how much of the stuff he made impacted the setting. He also gave us ODSTs and Bungie was openly hostile towards the idea until they realized how popular they were in 2. They’d later make an ODST game and never acknowledged the fact that idea didn’t even come from them.

An astute commenter pointed out something strange about this scenario. In the Fall of Reach comic, Linda is stabbed in the back by an energy sword. Yet, in the novel, she gets downed how I described it in the video. That being said, I’m not sure which version of events is considered canon. I suppose it would be easy enough to say both. So, an amendment then: Not only was she hit by several bolts of plasma but she was also stabbed by an energy sword. Weird.
