It’s a noon cutoff here in PA. It has cost me birds numerous times, but I love it. I think it keeps birds gobbling later into the season because they aren’t getting harassed all day every day. Let them roost in peace and they’ll be better to hunt the following morning. Evening hunts were never my cup of tea, so maybe I’m biased.

That's just part of the game. That's how the season runs in Pennsylvania, and I honestly don't mind it. My wife is a big fan of the noon cut off 😂. Definitely been a time or two I wish I'd had more time, but I try to be optimistic and appreciate that sometimes the turkey wins. I'm ok with that

Yep had it happen a time or two here in VA. The one that really hurts is the one I hafta leave for work. Only good thing about it is that you get to hunt him again another day. Passion is a powerful motivator.

VA here also and I ran out of time yesterday myself. The way it's going I won't strike until the 24th or later.

Same here in PA. First 2 weeks, if it's to benefit the Turkey population okay with me.

Yes, I missed the opportunity to take a Tom on opening day in Vermont last year (2023). Stalked him all morning, and had a shot at 12:10 at 35 yards but, couldn’t take it. Legal hours in Vermont’s Spring season ends at noon. Bummer! However, on the positive side: the hunting up here is awesome! We have lots and lots of turkeys around we are not experiencing any population decline like what seems to be the case in the southeastern US. Sure, it’d be great to hunt birds throughout the day for the full experience of the Springtime hunt. But, it may be that in leaving the birds alone each afternoon to do their thing unpressured, actually helps to keep reproductive success higher than it might otherwise be. I think that it also allows the turkeys to calm down with less stress and fall back into their normal routine just being turkeys, which makes for better hunting opportunities in the morning!

Missouri had a cut off years ago i had to abide by and i used to be thankful mostly , otherwise i would have felt guilty knocking off . i walked enough by then chasing them Ozark ridge runners and was ready for a beer. Gave us boys more time together at camp before we try to put one to sleep. Living in NC now im grateful to hunt all day. i can hear from one anytime now and stop what im doing and go after him since i live in the woods with them , thank you Jesus

Me a few times here in Virginia. I wish they would move to 1pm. I had on one time about three seasons ago , he came in once rolled on by on the other side of creek gobbling his head off. Then he worked back around in loop. Came slower notice my decoys this go around. Jumped the creek walked in right at 11:58 stood out of range for two minutes. Hit the strut the spit drumming gobbling, just showing out in front of me trying to get my decoys. Still one of my favorite hunts.

It has hurt me because I bumped a turkey at 11, but he started returning and responding to hen calls at 11:45 . I live in VA too! Can you host a seminar? I would love to come to learn from you in person.

Yes here in TN this year TWRA decided to go from three birds to two… several years ago we were allowed four birds. This year though they pushed our traditional season starter back two weeks… and with the weather we’ve had it’s close to being over. I killed a very nice bird on the opening day but yeah…they got this wrong!!!

I'm sorry to hear that matt....not ever had to experience that but I can't imagine that I would like it to much tho....iv not ever looked into weather it works or not ...but can't imagine weather you shoot one morning or evening matters that much 🤔

Happens in Missouri all the time and the excuse the MODC uses is the lamest reason for having a 1:00 p.m. cutoff!

Of course. It's like that in Ohio for the first few weeks. Opening day is next weekend. Can't wait.

in NC we have a cut off on Sundays at 930 but you can hunt again after 230. I'm ok with that but if it were a daily thing, it would be unacceptable.

Here in MO. cutoff time is at 1. I have mixed emotions about it really, I love turkey hunting but I also want a good turkey population. But we only get 3 weeks of hunting until 1 o'clock everyday.

I just got through hunting two days in Virginia, Franklin county, and yes . . . had to stop looking for gobblers at noon, frustrated with this .
