The R-73 isn’t flare resistant tho and I hate how people keep saying that it is. It acts like an r-60 for 60-80% of the shots and only within 0-1.5 km does it actually work. Compare this to the 9m which has almost invincible flare resistance from side shots (which make up the majority of missile shots in top tier) with a longer range.

But still wt under estimates radar missiles and over estimates some ir missiles. In dcs the r27er and et are able to shoot enemys from over 45-50 km when flying slow or towarda someone and 15-20 km if they are flying less than mach but facing away
