I'm Brazilian and I say it bluntly: the mainstream music industry here is deplorable and can be summed up as funk based on repetition and totally sexualized lyrics and countryside music (not exactly like yours, because here it is stylized, but similar) about being cheated by someone and having bar affairs and getting drunk non-stop because "oh I'm so sad because the woman i wanted betrayed me with another man, i need beer desperately because that's the only purpose on my life and if i don't get drunk i'll lay on the floor and cry". What some musicians here have done with phonk is ridiculous too; 90% of it is unnecessarily earape songs with the same sexualized stuff being used as filler vocals. I also totally despise this ridiculous stuff that appeals to children using corny ahh subtitles and the distorted and hideous trollface, because this shit is the height of edgy brainrott produced solely to go viral by appealing to imbeciles who hide their insecurities by being psychopaths wannabes and spreading hateful prejudice (yes, these trollface edits are often prejudiced). Man, it's sad the image we build of ourselves... Our mainstream music was wonderful back in the day, even when smartphones and internet didn't exist; bossa nova was our precious gem which has now been thrown into the mud and replaced by soulless, meaningless poop.

PS: I'm a phonk fan btw, and even so I recognize that there are several bad phonks abroad too, and that's why I'm very selective with what I like because I value creativity and effort in the beats.
