It's a peaceful purple. I think that's why I love purple because it can range from bright and energetic to calming and peaceful, from pinky to blue to gray.

It seems like a very useful shade of cool grey for shadows and ambiance in paintings!
I would put this one in the same category as payne's grey: not exactly impressive on its own, but something you're glad to have on hand and to use way more often than you expected.

I love natural colours, like, still a rainbow, but that dull, earthy version is really nice, I’ve always loved the sort of “terracotta” type shades, dull greens, sandy yellows, grey-purples etc.

I once saw that kind of grayish-purple referred to as "graphite purple". It's one of my favorites, just below sage green.
