People commenting saving money doing it yourself, yes you sure can. When you pay for a shop or mobile mechanic to do it, do understand that it is a business. You pay for their time and labor. A brake job might seem easy, but if you're inexperienced, you could potentially make mistakes and it could potentially cost your life or somebody else's. Additionally, the cost to do it yourself does not only include parts, but also the tools you'd to purchase to get it done. I think it's infair to throw shade at mechanics because they're "expensive" compared to DIY. I understand there are mechanics that rip you off, but there also those who are honest. At the end of the day, they need to making a living, and shops need to pay for business expenses.

The dealership quote me at $299.95 for front brakes and $299.95 for rear brakes.
$1,459.98 for front shocks and $873.95 for rear shocks. A total of $2,933.87 with parts and labor.
I did it myself for under $600 in less than 3 hours. Keep in mind I had never work in a car before 🤣🤣 so i took a few trips to Auto Zone. But heyy I saved myself over $2,000 in less than 3 hour

Those prices are very affordable, for anyone that thinks that’s expensive go and see what your local dealership chargers. I’m a BMW tech, I graduated from Lincoln tech and I do side jobs for friends/neighbors etc. my neighbor got quoted $95 for an oil change, $145 including air filter, includes his tires being rotated and balanced. They also quoted him $1200 for all his breaks, rotors being replaced not to mention they wanted him to buy new lug nuts because his were wore down which hear this out they wanted to sell him an entire set for $499 dollars.
He came to me and I told him I’ll do it for $500 bucks, not including the cost for parts which that was on top of that. Since I work at a bmw dealership I got some brand new lugnuts off my trunk cause I get these for free😂

I think anyone who doesnt understand that youre being generous and weeding out cheap customers at the same time has no clue how to run a business. Keep going dude, youre doing great and never let go of that service fee.
