🙌 Here’s something that we’ve found really helpful during this pregnancy. It’s a great way to promote a healthy birth for the mom and baby. It’s also a great way for dads to help out mom during this sometimes strenuous period of pregnancy. 💪
🤰It’s called a Rebozo and it comes from the indigenous traditions of Mexico. The exercise is done by placing the Rebozo cloth around the mom’s belly and gently “sifting”. While the dad (or other helper) pulls up on the Rebozo, it counteracts the pull of gravity on the mom’s body. 😌
There are a lot of amazing benefits that can come from doing this exercise:
🌟 It helps to create more space in the uterus.
🌟By doing this, it can help to flip a breeched baby into the head-down position. This is actually the main reason we started doing it. Our baby was in the transverse position and we wanted to avoid a c-section.
🌟The extra weight carried around during pregnancy can tighten uterine ligaments and abdominal muscles. The Rebozo technique can help to relax them.
🌟By creating better positioning of the baby and more space in the uterus during pregnancy, it promotes a more relaxed delivery.
🌟It can actually be done during labor as well. This can further help mom to relax.
🌟Ladies, this actually feels wonderful! It’s a welcomed, temporary relief of the pull gravity is making on our bodies while we are pregnant. So, enjoy!
