There’s actually many reasons why singers lip sync during their performances. According to John Legend and Kelly Clarkson, the floats don’t have the sound capacity for a live performance and that the cold weather can be harmful for vocals. Despite all this, it is still quite hilarious how so many singers in the parade do such an awful job of hiding it.

So for those who don’t know. The parade isn’t live for one reason. Vocals. It’s freezing and having a bunch of professional singers sing live in the cold can damage their voice. Which is why stages be hot as hell so we don’t struggle

Part of it is not wanting to hide it during a performance everyone lipsyncs at, so it gives the feeling you’re being truthful all other times.
