You are right, buy companies don't want to do it. In Spain, one of the several parts of a software develloper job interview is a writen test of 2 hours long like in the university.

I went through 30 mins HR call, 1 hour live coding round, and then again 4 hours of live coding and system design round, just to be ghosted for two months.
After multiple follow-ups during this time, finally I get an email saying my primary recruiter went into maternity leave and someone else will reach out to me. And on the first ever email from him, he tells me I am INELIGIBLE for the role because I am a recent Masters student, and the posting was for an SDE role.
Mind you, I have 3+ years of prior experience as an SDE before I decided to pursue higher studies! I didn’t expect such unprofessional behaviour from a reputed cloud infrastructure company, but I guess it is what it is.

Yes, I got my new job after one phone call interview, and two job interviews. If they ask for more than that then it's a waste of time. They are not really looking to hire someone.

My partner got a Machine Learning job after a single interview. No frills, no fuss, pay and benefits great. The job is exactly as the manager outlined in during the interview and my partner is a rockstar at the work. They just aren't working in a traditional tech company and that's been working out great.
