It's the same for Barbarian. The two rages aren't exactly the same but they functionally serve the same purpose and allow that character to ignore mage chess.

B.Rage is solidly one of the best abilities in the game. On par with some HLAs. The sheer breadth of immunities covers almost every debuff in the first game that is not poison, disease, or curse. Even in SoA, this stops close to 90% of negative conditions. B.Rage was the reason my IWDEE party was so much stronger than IWD, zerker multiclass at 2 is absolutely better than base fighter. You can even use HoW to ding to the mid levels before dropping the difficulty in the starter quests and then multi.
Tldr, zerker is pretty much a straight upgrade to fighter.

Let's say you have two berserkers and someone who can maze or imprison. You could cast it on a fatigued berserker and if I'm not mistaken, he would come out without the fatigue debuff, ready for action again. Could be done quickly with two mages or alacrity HLA to quickly follow up with a Freedom spell. Perhaps anyone here can confirm if this works.

Ever since I first picked Berserker in BG2 I've been a huge fan of the kit. I accidentally gibbed Drizzt in the Bodhi fight (Now if only I got to keep his loot)

Technically you shouldn't be able to control your Berserker during the rage...like the SCS spell "Blood rage", so its powerful and devastating, but the downsides to this are meh, some penalties after.

I think Bioware made a mistake with this ability. It shouldn't be so strong at the beginning of BG2, and maybe it could become a HLA type of upgrade instead.
