My favorite is making a track and telling them i used a certain peice of analog gear and hear them telling me how they told me it sounds so much better but actually the whole track is through the plugging lol.

studio equipment being expensive was a huge barrier and blessing to the music industry. just to think people used to go into debt to record music but on the flip side it made the difference in the quality of music due to keeping people who were not serious about music out of the way. with it being too easy now we have more trash music. there's a good and bad to both situations and it doesn't even have to do with analog vs digital but everything else that went with it.

I had an instructor in audio school who mixed decades with analog who almost completely switched to in the box for convenience. Only keep specific outboard gear that he couldn’t get vst’s version of.

I love he's spending his time actually making music instead of waffling on about analog vs digital which no one actually listening to the music will care about. SAYING it adds more depth and whatever is a lot more valuable than the tiny difference actually using it will make. Less valuable use of time though.
