Weirdly half-related question:
Is the handing down of rolling stock from main lines to smaller lines now dead with the "innovation" of privatisation?
It seems it would be so much more efficient to try and get as much as possible from rolling stock instead of sending them all to scrap each time a line needs new stock; is it even feasible with our railways divided into fifedoms and in such a sorry state? Could you even get these rail barons to work together on the topic to begin with?
