Plenty of people save pieces of food for last to savor their favorite part of the meal. I know I do! Also I don’t mess with anyone’s food, especially a child. Def AH behavior.

"I guess it must be an autistic thing"

... an autistic thing? AN AUTISTIC THING!? Even if it WERE an 'autistic thing', is OP saying those with autism don't deserve to be treated with common decency?! That's freaking ABLEIST and I will not...! pauses, takes a deep breath, quietly recites Ecclesiastes 7:9 to herself Sorry, my husband is high-functioning autistic, so it kind of set me off...

Wait, expecting basic courtesy is a sign of autism now? 😂

If it was only "about halfway thru the meal" as OP stated, why in the everloving blue hell would you presume to take food off someone's plate and give it away? Dain bramaged people these days...

Taking food away from kids because they eat it more slowly teaches them to eat quickly which can lead to resource guarding which can be detrimental to their long-term relationship to food.

I think that's a pretty messed-up observation because that's not just an autistic thing. I'm not autistic and I do that. I always save my favorite pieces for last.

I am simply choosing to think that this one is a troll cause no way someone can do this and think they're in the right

I have 2 sons on the spectrum & they don’t save any food they want to eat for last lol usually if it’s their favorite thing on the plate they’re going to eat it first but everyone is different, you didn’t know & I hate wasting food! I probably would’ve done the same thing

OBVIOUSLY!!! WHAT THE HECK?! It’s the fact that they even had to ask for me! I’m not autistic but I save some food for last too? What hurts the most about this story is that I personally usually save my favorite for last 🥲
