Not the Same situation but some thing different happened with our family too .We were in nepal moving forward for Kathmandu in the mid of the journey some local were on strike due to some matter(a Chinese worker killed a local boy due to any personal reasons by hitting him by truck because it was a construction area and ran from there ) so there were lots of traffic .We were there for about 4 to 5 hr no police no army to release people.We sufferings in that traffic .And after 4 and half hr military arrived but local were so furious and angry that firstly they were attacking to police men because they started lathi charge so local become more aggressive and start attacking to tourist buses and cars by throwing stones .
Literally they were on top of the hills on pointing the buses and cars .There many cars were damaged many people were injured .One elderly lady was badly injured.Luckly our car doesn't have much destruction only little dents were there.But our driver has said to cover our head by some object or cloths and he drove the car without panicking because he afraid too what just happened in front of him.And here our driver shows his presence of mind without thinking
he drove the car in full speed when police and locals were head to head.
This incident happened with me on 4th June 2024.

This happened in Madhukkara Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. A family from Kerala was in the car we can hear someone's cry when they got scared. The driver did a great job. He later appeared in news if I am not wrong.

Usually Tamilnadu is very good and safe to travel at any time. According to TN police,
It wasn't robbery and it was mistaken by the Robbers who could not get the exact vehicle which carries ransom to Cochin and to be looted in that particular place.
