My cardiologist tells me the usual numbers are way out of whack. But he refuses to order the Lipid Particle size test or the ACA scan. So until and unless he does order these tests, I'm not interested in statins or fibrates. He does say that my heart is fine, and my hypertension is "garden variety" and "probably hereditary." So why are my beta blocker and ARB unable to bring my BP below 145/80? My heart rate is always in the low 50's, though I don't exercise regularly and I have a pretty poor diet too. And Metformin helps keep my a1c below 6.8. So why don't I just subject myself to leg cramps, sore muscles overall, and the likelihood that a statin will raise my a1c? Maybe he should be my EX-cardiologist. Maybe my primary care Dr. is right when she says "we" shouldn't make any big changes until a colonoscopy and upper GI/EGD study shed some light on the chronic diarrhea and gastric issues, including gallstones. I'm 64 and apparently, not long for this world. But I don't drink or smoke, I'm caffeine free and I can't have tomatoes, citrus or most tropical fruits due to bladder issues. Someone needs to stop this runaway train.

What if HDL is @40 Trig 81. I don't know the other numbers from my lipid panel from Sept. He did Total Cholesterol 160, VLDL 15, LDL 105 a bit High according to lab ranges.
