In order for God to be both the Father and the King, He must be compassionate, while at the same time, refusing to respond to the wrong kind of pursuit, lest it become a permanent part of us. Therefore, God’s lack of response is not necessarily an absence of His presence. He waits for us to develop our capacity before responding to us at the maximum level of His glory. This means we must increase our capacity by enhancing our spiritual maturity.
Sometimes, this process can feel like it spans a lifetime, requiring us to break away from childhood traumas, redefine our understanding of love, and pursue Him as adults so we can receive an adult response.
This is probably the most challenging aspect of Christianity; we often dilute our standards and expect God to conform to our level.
When God doesn’t do this, we may react poorly. It’s crucial to understand that, while God loves us immensely, He waits for us to rise from under the juniper tree and ascend the mountain.
We must dress up, come up, stand upright, face Him, reason, wrestle, grow, govern, and soar high.
