Lychrel numbers are special numbers that might never form a palindrome through the process of repeatedly reversing their digits and adding the result. For most numbers, this process eventually creates a palindrome, but Lychrel numbers seem to never reach one, even after many attempts. The most famous example is 196, which hasn’t resulted in a palindrome despite extensive trials. Mathematicians are still exploring if true Lychrel numbers exist.
