Nooooooo!! Bro. Real talk.. I own a professional pressure washing company. You MUST use neutralizer after or it will decompose the wood from the inside out in about 2 years. 💯 real talk. The CORRECT way to Do it is oxalic acid.. very low dilution. It brightens the wood without breaking down the fibers inside. 💪

If that chlorine isn't rinsed off it'll cause that wood to prematurely break down.

Pour the water in the container first. Pouring water into a pool grade base (not acid, but still same story) can be dangerous. Chemical safety is no joke.

The chlorine kills the mold and the mold is what discolors the wood. Now, you should seal the wood with a deck sealer or transparent stain to preserve the color due to keeping the mold from getting back in the substrate of the wood and discoloring it again. No matter what, it will happen again, but with a good sealer on it, it will take a few years.

you can use regular bleach , but you can pressure wash it with plain water and it will do the same thing. We do that every year to our porch, no chemicals needed.

FYI; Chlorine will also kill whatever plants that come into contact with the spray.

That not only cleans it, but then begins to disintegrate it as well. Plus you are using it about 100x the recommended concentration.

It dyes hair really well, too. Right before it falls out and burns your scalp.

Depending on how the wood is used, I sand it then rub it down with boiled linseed oil.
Old school but worth the effort.

If that mixture drains into the soil, it burns the worms that keep your soil healthy. Putting a tarp down on your cement would be better. Great idea though!

Pool chlorine is basically Clorox double strength, so you can just use regular Clorox straight.

Make sure you rinse off the bleach/chlorine with lots of water afterwards. Also rinse out the sprayer with clean water or else the sprayer will leak afterwards.

Zep probably costs about the same, and works great for removing green algae, and stains. It’s made for that! What you gonna do with the rest of that in your sprayer?

Bleach can cause things to dry out. Once it cleans it, you should rinse off what you sprayed. Also, it may have also stripped any kind of wood protectant that was on it, so it will need to be reapplied.

Also, before any spraying of bleach/bleaching products, you might want to lay a tarp or two under what you intend to spray, to limit the chance of it getting on other stuff.
