When is a bar not a bar? - When it's a memorial!

I generally try and avoid videos relating too specifically to #TheTroubles here in NI, because of the comments I inevitably get. But I am fascinated by our commemorations of #death and this #memorial to the largest loss of life in #Belfast during the Troubles - the McGurks bar massacre in 1971 - is I think rather brilliant. At first glance it appears to be a real old pub, then you might think of one of those cosmetic improvement schemes the council does with old buildings when there's an important event happening. But no it's a clever memorial crossed with public art.

I think acknowledgement of the horrors that went on in our communities in Northern Ireland (or the North of Ireland if you're the sort that prefers that phrasing) is important. Recognition of wrongs perpetrated on both communities is important.

I'm sure most local folk know what this piece represents but I'd be especially interested in hearing from you if you've seen the piece but didn't know the story (if you're not local, or are younger this seems quite likely !).
