Mazaya first opened its halal restaurant in 2019 serving up Arabic food faves like chicken shawerma, kafta kabob, falafel, baba ghanouj and much more. The halal restaurant has earned a great reputation amongst the locals for serving up great food with equally great service.
During my visit, I decided to go with a Lamb Chop Plate (4 cuts of grilled marinated lamb, basmati rice, hummus, tabbouli salad, grilled pepper, onion, tomato, and warm pita bread), an order of Kibbi (beef and wheat shell stuffed with ground beef, onions, and spices), and a soda to wash it all down. It was my first time trying Kibbi and I loved it! The entire meal was delicious. My total cost for everything came to about $22. (Disclosure: Mazaya provided a small discount towards my meal cost. This was not arranged prior to my visit nor was it a requirement.)
Finally, Mazaya ownership provided a written statement they only use Zabihah halal meat on their menu. Additionally, the halal restaurant does not sell alcohol.
