This little guy will soon require custom SMOs (Supramalleolar Orthosis) to support his feet and ankles. Before he gets his braces, we wanted to establish a baseline of foot pressure and muscle activation.
Using a Pressure Walkway and Core EMG system, we measured his walking patterns—both barefoot and using a toy walker/holding a parent's hand.
What we found:
➡️ Walks mainly on the ball of his left foot
➡️ Leans forward more when using a walking aid
➡️ Lower muscle activation with the walking aid
