The Nakasendo was (is?) a road that connected Tokyo and Kyoto and has a long, rich history.

With our homebase being Nagoya, we accessed part of it from Nagiso station, then went west towards Magome.

Overall it was a 3 hour, 10-ish km walk with some stopovers in Tsumago and Magome. These small towns have an old Japanese town feel and you definitely feel transported back in time! The original Nakasendo was over 500km long so this was definitely just a small slice of it.

The trail itself wasn't too technically difficult, but boy does it test your fitness and cardio with some steep slopes.

Shoes were the @lono.barefoot WILD which I reviewed on my YouTube channel.
