Muriatic acid is also great for cleaning rust stains from your concrete driveway and has many other great uses, this stuff is powerful, read and follow the directions.

Kind of like the cinnamon challenge. A mouthful will burn your tongue and make you cough, but mix just a bit with sugar and butter and bake into a roll, and itâs delicious. Same with muriatic acid - if you bake it into a roll itâs delicious.

Yes. Pools need to maintain a certain Ph level and if its to basic you need to add some sort of acid to balance it.

@FayeHadley thatâs neat! A respirator rated for acids makes all the difference. A respirator not rated for acid does cut the fumes, but you will still be inhaling dangerous, painful amounts of acid. You may be using one, itâs unclear in the video, I believe some brands have stopped color coding their cartridges.

I definitely cluelessly helped a buddy out who bought a house w a pool that hadnt been opened in a number of years, by draining/pumping out the pool. Then i shop vac'd the muck. Power washed it. Did the acid without a respirator and then painted it. My lungs hurt for a week after. But the pool came out awesome. He was blown away when he got back and saw the final result. In the beginning it had frogs and ducks in it and a few dead mice.

If you use a grinder to clean Galvanized steel, you can actually weld pretty nicely.

No way, acid on skin or eyes burns? Crazy. We use it mixed with tin to patina metal not clean it. Opposite ends of the field. Gotta wear the pro.

Good call on the galvie it's super toxic, so is brake cleaner. Don't prep with brake cleaner.

I like seeing respirators in use! Too many people are really cavalier about their lungs when working in the shop.
