For the past couple years we've taken trips that tend to be more kid focused. Planning out the trip for this past summer we were headed to places we loved to do things that were different than the kid activities of the past. With some extra planning we found a balance that helped us all to enjoy the trip immensely.

A few factors helped with this:

1. Age: the girls were at an age where they could sit still in the car seat for longer periods of time.

2. Tablet time: we were able to hold the girls off of the tablet for a while but would eventually allow them on it for the days we spent more time in the car.

3. Planning half day excursions: the trails we chose were half days, so we would go in the morning freeing up the afternoon for more active activities such as the pool.

4. Book a hotel with a pool: winner winner chicken dinner, the secret sauce to our time in Moab was the accommodations! The kids had bunk beds, there was a kitchenette with a full size fridge and microwave, a living area, breakfast in the morning, and the resort-like pool with waterfall features and hot tubs!

Moab was definitely our favorite destination this summer! 🚙❤️
