Dorsal #dislocation:
#MCP joint (base joint): Keep the joint flexed and inward while applying gentle pressure to push the joint back into place. Don't pull on the thumb.
IP joint (tip joint): Apply gentle traction while pushing on the back of the tip to relocate the joint.
Volar dislocation (less common):
MCP or #IP joint: Hold the joint in extreme flexion (bent forward), then push it back towards a neutral position (not hyperextending).
