My first impression when I saw this clip was the opposite. It feels like the dark colored character seems more hero-like (bravery, truth seeking, etc) and I could see the light colored character having something devastating happen because they trusted what ppl were telling them about the magick not being dark magick, turns out it was dark magick. and feeling guilt for being naive and trusting. Then that starts then in the path of being the villain with a killer back story. 😂

idk if this was a real book or a fever dream i had but it was this plot but on it's head. kinda like sfgae but more about the after effects. the dark character went digging and it turned out she was right and the dark magic wasnt actually evil it was nuetral but powerful (concept of weapon nuetrality, weilder morality) and the light clothed character was so caught up in what they'd lose by fighting the ban that they became the villian and the dark clothed character became the hero.

Plot twist, the “villain” is actually the hero because she’s the only one that notices the evil shit that goes down behind closed doors. Meanwhile, the “hero” is the one being indoctrinated and sucked into the magic cult so deeply that she can’t see any evil she ends up doing because “we’re the good guys”.

I mean the villain has a point. Most of the time they do. Only reason they're bad till the end is well the world refuses to admit they are wrong. Recently read that even 'light' magic can be used for dark magic. So....technically she isn’t wrong cuz either way people are getting hurt. She would've been the hero if the story was from her POV.
