Learn. But master the lesson you’re on.

Here's the good news:
We have access to SO MUCH WISDOM. Through YouTube, books apps, and podcasts we can learn from the world's greatest teachers...past and present. And it's easier than ever before.

Here's the bad news:
It's easy to get confused. Teaching seem to conflict. The next teaching is new to me so I have found myself jumping to something new before I've embodied the lesson I'm on. Often I've found myself digging shallow spiritual holes without ever hitting water.

We can also get into a "self help loop" where we never feel whole because we're always jumping from teaching to teaching..putting the fulfillment we say we want in the future..for after we learn the next lesson.

Here's what do do about it:
Learn. But master the lesson you're on. Don't jump off of it for something shiny and new before you truly have embodied a lesson.
When you've acquired a toolkit of different teachings, recognize that the REAL KEY is employing the correct technique in the right situation. For example, I have a real warrior inside of me. I uncovered it on The Walk Across America and Mt. Everest. It's really helpful in some challenges. But it's really destructive in others. I use the warrior when I'm tested and I feel like giving up. I don't use the warrior when I'm trying to write a song or when I'm dropping in with my family. It would be highly destrctuve if I did.
Remember, you're already perfect, whole, and complete. Learning new things is great, but do it from a place of fun and joy, not from a place of "i'm broken and need fixing."

You're doing great.

Keep going.
