Yuan has seen how Qian has always sacrificed for them. He saw how selfless he was, barely even having time for himself. This is why even at a young age, Yuan was doing everything to make sure Qian doesn't suffer so much. He wanted to lessen his (Qian's) burden. It's also why he was so hurt when San Pang told him they can't be together because his brother has had a tough life and he would only make it more difficult. Even at a young age, Yuan has worked without his brothers' knowledge. The new year's money was even set aside to pay their bills. That "If the world comes down, we'll hold it up together" perfectly sums it all.
I don't think Qian realizes how much his brother is willing to go for him until the latest episode. Sure, that was reckless of Yuan, but it's the only way he knows.
