Affordable housing is a scam anyhow. Its just a few units to get tons of subsidies from the city and developers put friends/family/mistress in those units.
The reason they dont build actual housing for a reasonable budget is due to zoning and permitting driving up the cost to build so only luxury makes it worth it.

The problem is that every new apartment building has "luxury" attached to it just so they can charge ridiculous amounts of money. However, they have the same basic amenities as any other apartment building. There's also nothing luxurious about living in an area with high foot traffic and homelessness.

People, it literally makes more sense to have LUXURY apartments RIGHT NEXT TO the EXPENSIVE FASHION VALLEY MALL lol.....Imagine asking for 'low income housing' on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills....RELAX! Luxury apartments next to luxury shopping makes more sense than a low income one. Why live basically INSIDE the mall if you can't go shopping? The property owner of the Fashion Valley Mall is the one deciding what to replace the JCP with. Take it up with him if y'all have issues lol not the dang reporters...

Good. Keep housing prices high to keep the riff raff out. Lol. Why not provide good affordable housing just of for teachers and first responders? The young ones just starting out. Maybe some how have some of the $30B wasted on the homeless to help subsidize teachers and first responders rental buildings. At least my tax money would go to help people that will become productive citizens to help out future, than to go to drug addict chronically homeless use less people.

A lot of you talk about affordable housing. Yet, we voted against rental control back in 2020. I don't believe that's right. That would mean there are more property owners than there are renters.
And what renter is voting against rent control?
