As someone who is new to the "office environment", I'm loving these! Its nice to have a professional giving awesome examples of how to deal with these uncomfortable conversations that management absolutely will have with you at some point.

Reason I love my supervisor is all my hours with him are overtime. He just needs to justify how much I get but if I come in, I get paid. He is the one that has the conversation; never a problem with getting hours nor payment.

I worked 2 hours overtime every day in i.t. as hourly. The entire department was put on salary and they pulled me in wondering why I was now working only my scheduled hours. I also left the building for my hour lunch and didn't attend lunch meetings.

Veronica is the problem here. She is a low level employee. She doesn’t get to decide that she gets overtime pay or that she gets a two hour minimum. Most employees with that sense of entitlement and that constant combative attitude would be fired a long time ago. The only thing she does have control over if she picks up the phone after work hours.
