It's great to see bunch of musicians create TOGETHER as a unit... people don't see it enough and they think this stuff just springs out of holes in the ground! :)
For amny it's a place of vulnerability, they do not want to show the incomplete thing to anyone outside, because it's no ready yet, so it sounds goofy and unpolished... etc.
but it's important people see the process behind art :)

The best version of this trick is in Trocadero’s “Gun Metal Green” where it takes a somewhat meh song (e.g. stumbling every chorus over “Udtrusyuwatta wheel even if we're going down,” good meaning but suboptimal consonant placement) and suddenly the space gives it adrenaline and punch: Nico’s lyrics “we don't need a key, we were already free, cruising along, to a Mexican song” get more droney and guide you to expect something, I think (have to check) that the guitar falls away into distortion a bit similarly, a massive drum fill happens, and then there is a sudden mute where all that energy they built up is just carrying you without any music, you're just flying, like a car off a ramp... but it's short enough and the song hits on those presto 8th notes to satisfy that energetic release immediately. It's like having your heart skip a beat in the middle of the song.
