I just listened to your podcast interview with John on Mormon stories. Nuance Hoe was there too. I'm really proud of you for having the courage to step away from the church and stand up to leaders in the ward you were in before you left.
I just resigned from the church myself, so I'm at the very beginning of the process of trying to make a new community since I have lost my literal biological family as well as my ward and stake family and many LDS friends.
I think I'll be starting a new YouTube channel to talk about my experience. I'm trying to decide on a handle. anyway, I wanted to introduce myself and thank you for your interview. many of the things you said have definitely saved my sanity.

after I learned to lindy hop, the other people in the ward got mad that I would chose a night of lindy hop over going to go stand in a circle 5 feet apart, while stepping side to side to the same pop songs at church dances.

When i was 19 I attended one of these, invited by a friend, not knowing what I was getting myself into. It was so awkward. I felt like I was at a Junior High dance yet all the adolescents had young adult bodies.
