One of the very best things about your videos is this bemused look you get on your face when the log splits like you had no idea that was going to happen but the results are pleasing for you. I don't know why that cracks me up every time, but thank you.

If you believe the old logger (my dad) he used a double bit ax to limb. One size sharp and one side dull. The dull side snapped the libs off at the base easier and the sharp for everything else.

I felt that whole range of emotions as that log you threw went from nearly laying down to catching the edge and rolling back down. "wait, what?", to "how?!", " REALLY?" and finally to acceptance. I hope it didn't go too far on that little trip.

The last time I did any of this, we didn't split it on site. We loaded the rounds into a pickup truck and drove back to the place where a power splitter was used. Picked up the splits, loaded them onto the pickup and drove it over to the storage area and stacked it.
Don't know why we didn't split it where it was going to be stacked. Looking back on it now, it seems rather dumb. Worked harder not smarter.
