It’s the simple things for me.📌❤️🔥
I didn’t understand what “working mother” truly meant until I became one.
Truthfully, it stings a bit when I say it because it’s HARD.🥹
My kids are four & eight and for that long I’ve juggled motherhood with a corporate career in marketing, PR & communications.
My job is demanding, I struggle to take breaks, I’m not paid enough for my skillset, I’m always “on” & last week my role & job title changed overnight.🤷🏻♀️
I have the flexibility to do school pick ups, but not the flex to be there for them in the afternoons & evenings.
My kids come second most of the time, they get far too many sugary snacks and TV time, they mostly see me juggling them & work and often get the worst of me.
This isn’t what success looks like to me.
And it’s not a sustainable way to work & mother.
The juggle, the guilt, the rushing, the inflexibility of it all, the mental load, lack of sleep, lack of time for health, lack of fun, lack of self care time, & lack of me time.
The societal pressure to be the successful professional + the perfect mother.
Success to me means👇🏻
❤️🔥 Never missing another school play
❤️🔥 Saying yes to helping on my daughter’s school excursion
❤️🔥 Daily school runs without the stress & juggle
❤️🔥 Six weeks of summer holidays with my kids
❤️🔥 Showing my children they can create anything they want for their life
❤️🔥 Leading by example and becoming the best version of myself
❤️🔥 Having a relaxed central nervous system
❤️🔥 Prioritising movement & healthy food daily
❤️🔥 Not being too exhausted to read my kids a story each night
❤️🔥 Creating a simple, intentional life filled with purpose
❤️🔥 Showing working mothers a better way to live & earn
❤️🔥 Realising our true potential & helping others see theirs
🎯 The “working mother” who gets it right for me & my family.
💥 Who leads by example, who doesn’t conform, breaks down societal norms & what’s possible for parents.
✨ Who buys back my time & my life.
That’s how simple it feels for me.
& what I want my children to learn. 🫶🏻
