it's not fixed. you CAN still do it. you just have to make sure when you run holding shift, press the w key or d key in the direction you are not facing without leaving the square/tile your on.

I tried cheesing the game once with exercise.
I found out that you can do 1 hour worth of burpees in less than 10 mins (all times will be in game times). I repeated this step 20 times. Thought i was master of cheese. Well the game made sure i was in agony for days. Actual days.
