As my father used to say, “time spent in preparation is never wasted.” Definitely true when painting.

Needs the glass in my opinion. Whenever I was in the states I loved all the light you guys had coming into the home so you need to have that beautiful stained glass on show.

Using the right products makes all the difference and that is a great color for an entrance door

This would've been more enjoyable if we got to see the entire outside entryway after you finished all your hardwork!

Masking liquid , you should mask/painters tape the glass wood /trim surround ,as 6 months from now, the liquid mask will start to shrink on the wood surround, and you will have to peel off and have to paint the wood again .
Just as quick to mask off with painters tape or cut in free hand . 40 yrs contractor 👍

No steps were skipped, no corners cut. 1000% satisfaction. The results speak for themselves. Gotta love when someone puts in this much effort into what they’re doing.

I was about to comment "oh wow he actually did something kinda right".... But then saw he was painting the door while it was open. Now show us all the overspray inside the house.

SOOOOOO satisfying to see the needed steps put in for a quality paint coat. So many people could learn from this, and I hope they take away some knowledge

I actually used to paint doors for a living. I was working for a door company and I painted and stained hundreds of doors and frames. First thing I would do is take the door the hinges. Did everything with a brush, didn't mask anything off. Had a drop sheet of course. I was getting paid by how many doors I painted so I had to work fast and smarter.

Just a heads up, the black blades are carbon steel, and can scratch glass a lot easier than a stainless steel blade can. Use very light pressure if using carbon blade.
Edit: Even the silver 25mm blades are carbon steel, so be careful with those as well. The 9mm and 12.5mm knives have stainless blades that are a bit safer for glass.
