Hi Mike, did you bring it home and test it, that is no common socket 7 if you search for the model you will see it is based on the superior intel Triton II 430HX that support up to 512MB of RAM.
BTW Necroware just released a video about a couple of these boards.

Ooo, this version has the CPU cache slot. Though, I am curious about the other slot at the end of that PCI. Haven't seen a slot like that that wasn't a VLB.

I have a board very very similar to this one
It looks like it has the same socket seven and Intel pentium (with the little fan on top)
And it indeed has that keyboard port and it has many of the same components on the board just in slightly different locations
Model number seems to be GA-586ATV
(The end letter is either a U or a V I can’t quite tell)

Typical ASUS motherboard from that era, very high quality with real onboard cache(unlike PCChips boards), Triton II chipset, probably around from 1996. Really good condition apart from the dust, but that's something that can be fixed easily.
