The Sukhoi Su-57 Duct Design | GENIUS Upgrade! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Lockheed fanboys don't miss any opportunity to meme the Russian #fighterjet #su57felon
It didn't make the ducts that curvy for one more reason. They wanted to maximize internal bay capacity. S-ducts take a lot of space. Both #f35 and #su57 make compromises in one way or the other. F-35B sacrifices it payload capacity to hide its engine blades.
However, the Sukhoi bois never expected their prototypes and patents to get trolled so much.
It is all a big funny business.

Su57 has partial s ducts..... Not as stealthy as f22 or f35 but it compensates by having anti-radar grills/radar blockers. (As video mentions)
Su 57 was primarily based on architecture if su27 so the stealth elements were imcorporated rather than engeneeried from ground up, because of design /airfrane constraints. Still nobody questions the frontal stealth aspect.

Su75 however has ditched all previous sukhoi design ideologies and has been designed with stealth principles in mind from the very scratch. Thats the one i want to see fly .

For those who didn't understand why that bear was there - it's because the metal circular thing was grills
and bear and grills make bear grills that national geographic guy so ye it was a reference of him.

that's only partially correct. schematics show that the felon does feature S-ducts similar to the YF-23, on top of the RCS reducing measures already mentioned.

With that deaign the Su 57 would be able to carry a monstrous hypersonic missile.

SU47 has S ducts. So these are not foreign to Russians. Problem with S ducts is they constrict airflow somewhat.
F35 has just one engine. That is a serious redflag. Su57 has two, as does the F22, but SU57 has true thrust vectoring, has levcons at the front and has smaller vertical stabilizers which reduce drag, and they are fully mobile, kinda like YF23.

There is no perfect design. You have to do SOME compromises.

There is an official documentation of the Izdeliye 30, that show the air intake to have some sort of S shape. Fisrt the bottom part curves up, then the top part curves down. So in theory, the engine won't be visible when viewed from the front. And if you add on to that the radar blockers you get a pretty solid solution. However, thereโ€™ve been reports that the air intakes themselves are not made of composite, soโ€ฆ(

Ukraine saw it and got detailed radar cross sections from over 300 miles out with ground based radar. Not only that, but they were able to identify it amidst it's two 4th gen escorts.

It's not "sneaky" at all...
