He pays for all the things you need to start and run your own household as lady or the house and jewelry and a suitcase set and clothes and lingerie and other things like that (west African cultures do this) my German husband proudly did this and entered our wedding with drums and a procession my whole community was so proud. They check on us all the time and look out for us because the marriage was done traditionally with the community and the elders blessing. Damn I missed out I shouldve married Nigerian. I married a Zulu girl, ended up paying 11 cattle (4 live and 7 cash equivalents), 8 goats, 1 sheep, more than 30 blankets, dresses, scarfs and towels for her family members, a suit for the brides father and bunch of other stuff.
