When i proposed to my ex wife it was a surprise to me. Yeah i’ll explain why and yes you can laugh guilt free. We used an old Dutch tradition of an engagement without proposal. So we picked out the rings together. But when it came time for the proposal i said to her. Hey your family from New Zeeland is coming to the Netherlands in May. I know they want to be there when we get married so why not get married then? As an autistic person i am used to conferring everything with her. She said yes thats a great idea but do you know that was your proposal? I started stuttering and she started laughing.
We ended up divorced because she wanted to. And not even two months after she said that and the procedure hadn’t even started she came out on facebook that she had a new boyfriend
