Okay, answers. In the US it was called Chattahoochee. She is right, it was epoxy mixed in with various sized river rock. The uses- mostly around pools. You can cover over drains and they would still work, but left the surface dry so it still had excellent traction. Traction is a good quality for a pool deck to have. It was actually quite beautiful when installed correctly. I did the installing for a few years. That is, until i figured out the drawback. Ultraviolet light breaks down epoxy. Pool decks are usually out in the sun, which puts out quite a bit of Ultraviolet. The once beautiful pooldeck turns into a moonscape that is painful in bare feet. Think Legos troweled down to a uniform thickness around your pool. Or a coral reef. I believe she wants to sell pool owners that the polyurethane won't burn off in the sun, but anyone that went through a Chattahoochee nightmare is a pretty tough sale.
