At the World Fintech Summit 2025, held on 5-6th May in Bengaluru, Rahul Sharanappa Sankanur, IAS, Director, Electronics, IT & BT and Managing Director, Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society, Government of Karnataka, laid out Karnataka’s bold vision to shape the future of fintech, not just for India, but the world.

With over 5,000+ startups and 25 unicorns, India is now the third-largest fintech ecosystem, with Karnataka leading the way.

The state has outlined three key fintech priorities:
➣ Democratise access to innovation in underserved regions
➣ Strengthen public-private fintech partnerships
➣ Expand global outreach through regulatory sandboxes

As AI reshapes the financial world, Karnataka is placing inclusion, innovation, and intelligence at the heart of its fintech policy.
