Words of Wisdom for Musicians, no. 3: If it's Not Difficult, It's Not Practice

This is what my piano teacher used to tell me! Basically, practising a musical instrument is like going to the gym: unless your stretch yourself with challenging (...but achievable...) goals, your skills will never improve. Noodling around with your instrument and having fun making music is great, but genuine improvement happens when you really challenge yourself.

It's a good tip and I tried it but the dumbbell fell on my piano and then on my foot and now I gotta think about how to pay for the repairs while waiting for the foot to heal and it really is a whole body exercise, just as you said!

as a bassist i always keep one song by jaco Pastorius on standby. its the end goal of hardest things to play for me until I get it and I choose another. definitely helped my speed and accuracy

Honestly I am pretty disappointed that you now also follow the Youtube Shorts "fastfood entertainment" trend. I understand, financially this may be interesting (after all a guaranteed ad in 30secs ...), but it certainly does not reach the right people and does not help your reputation. I believe this is the wrong way.
